UP Kabataang Pilosopo Tasyo

UP Philosophical Society

“The UP Philosophical Society (UP Philosoc) is a university-wide, CSSP-based organization.  True to its 58 years of existence, UP Philosoc is  not only a haven for liberal philosophical learning, but a breeding ground for effective, critical, and responsible leaders and thinkers of society in whatever field they may be a part of. Reflecting this, many of our members come from a variety of courses and go on to pursue professions such as law, public governance, journalism, research, education, among many others— professions where their nurtured interest in philosophy is able to serve them well.

In our pursuit for philosophical excellence, our organization holds philosophical discussions, lecture series, and philosophy tutorials among many others. Majority of our activities are open to the public regardless of their background as we believe in the necessity for philosophy, as a study and practice, to exercise not just rigor but also inclusivity. To become a member of PhiloSoc is to become an active member in promoting philosophy’s potential universal value.”
