The BA Philosophy program of the Department of Philosophy provides the student with fundamentals and foundations of classical and contemporary philosophical theories with emphasis on analytic philosophy, logic, philosophy of science, ethics and epistemology, and their application to current issues in the social sciences, as well as other fields of knowledge.
A bachelor’s degree graduate from the UP Diliman Department of Philosophy upholds, to the highest standards, the University’s motto of honor and excellence. This is an individual who desires to learn even after they graduate and is capable of independent and collaborative learning. As a graduate of the Department, this person is a citizen who is capable of applying philosophy to address the needs of society by being a critical, analytic, ethical, and caring agent.
